A group of men and women who come together to share their drug use experience, strength, and hope in the bid to defeat their common problem and assist others in their struggle to do so is named Cocaine Anonymous.
The most ideal approach to contact somebody is to address them on a typical level. Everyone who belongs to Cocaine Anonymous is recovering from addiction and is able to stay sober through working with others. Cocaine Anonymous individuals originate from different social, ethnic, monetary and religious foundations, yet what they have similar is addiction.
The qualifying criteria to be a member is that one wants to quit using cocaine and other substances of abuse.

Cocaine Anonymous is a spiritual programme but does not identify itself with any religious group. Cocaine Anonymous members are able to define their own spirituality in the way that best helps them. As a group, Cocaine Anonymous does not have a stand on any issue outside the programme but, members are free to form their opinions. Though not connected to any rehab centres, recovery homes or medical facilities, Cocaine Anonymous do recommend these service providers to their patients for assistance in getting clean.
The purpose for which Cocaine Anonymous was formed was to help members stop cocaine and other addictive substances and remain clean while encouraging others to achieve the same success.
Offering help to addicts to have a successful recovery is the only purpose of Cocaine Anonymous. Individual experience has demonstrated that the best approach to achieve and keep up sobriety is to work with others experiencing a similar illness.

The Alcoholic Anonymous program that was developing in 1935 was adapted for this program. Like AA, Cocaine Anonymous utilizes the Twelve Step recuperation strategy which includes services to others as a way towards recuperation from enslavement. It is believed that a person with experience is better placed to understand and empathise with one struggling with the same addiction.
